The New Kids On The Block (NKOTB) reunited this year to produce a new album and delight their former fans on a multi-city tour across Canada, the United States and Europe.
The History of the New Kids on the Block
The New Kids On The Block were assembled by producer Maurice Starr in Boston in 1984. The young men that made up the group, Danny Wood, Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre and brothers Jordan and Jonathan Knight have collectively sold over 70 million albums worldwide, played sold out tours all over the world and won two American Music Awards.
Many consider them the original boy band that created the mould for how future groups of the genre, including *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys, would look and sound. The NKOTB officially disbanded in 1994. Since then there have been a few unsuccessful attempts at a reunion, but none came to fruition until they recorded a new album (2008’s The Block) and embarked on a major tour beginning in Toronto in September.
