Almost 37 million votes were cast. American voters had spoken in a two-hour spell after the show was aired on the night of Tuesday April 11, 2010.

Season Three winner Fantasia Barino opened the entertainment part of the show with her latest single Bittersweet. It’s the first single from her new soul music album. She said it has been three years since she’s had an album out. She also wrote the songs on the album.
